She came to us with smiles
Eyes shining, Hope vibrant.
Promised a future of light,
Alive in her heart it flourished.
Joyous her dreams, her every word.
Faith placed firm in one she trusted,
The one she called her friend.
Alone she lies now, silent, still.
Ignored, disparaged, smashed.
Her body broken, tangled
Upon the altar of his infinite ego.
Rotting eyes, sockets, skyward stare.
Silent now her hopes, her tender dreams.
Forgotten her name to all, even
To the one she called, her friend.
